How To Manage An Oily Face

You may perhaps be aware that the natural way with which oil is produced by the body is to help in keeping the skin healthy. Also we know that too much of everything is definitely not good.So when there is an accumulation of excess oil it  leads to the formation of acne. The excess oil normally is from the sebaceous glands in the skin producing excess sebum. People with this condition usually have shiny skin and large pores.

Ways You Can Manage Oily Skins

Wash your face morning and night to reduce the oil on them. Don’t wash more than three times because it can lead to dry skin which is another problem on its own.

Exercise daily for at least 30minutes, this will help your body to burn excess fat and thus limit the oil produced on your face.

Ladies always wash off your make-up when you return home, it reduces irritation to your faces.

Reduce your intake of fatty foods, find that food that when you eat you develop different oily skin problems and stop them.

Sleep adequately, you will be amazed at how this affects your skin.
Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated so the body will not try to moisturize it for you by producing oils.

How To Get Rid Of Your Oily Face

Steaming

Steaming is considered to be a very effective technique for cleaning the oils and dirt from skin pores on face. The first step for steaming is to boil hot water and pour into a big bowl. Take a towel and cover your head with it and allow the steam to pass to your face. I don’t need to tell you not to allow your  skin to touch the hot water as it can burn your skin. As the steam makes contact with your skin, it makes it softer get rid of oils from your skin.

Lemon juice

Lemon juice is a good source of citric acid that works like an astringent. It also has antiseptic properties that can restore the skin’s pH balance. You should mix equal parts of  fresh lemon juice with clean water. Using a cotton ball, apply it on your face and leave it for about 10minutes after which you can was off with warm water. Note that lemon can also dry out your skin, so you should use oil-free moisturizers after washing off.

Yogurt

Interesting huh? I thought so too when i saw it on the internet. Well, yogurt contains lactic acid that can help to gently exfoliate your skin and it absorbs excess oil on the face. Just rub one tablespoon of plain yogurt very well over your face and leave it on for 15 minutes. Then rinse it off with cool water. You can do this once daily.

Honey and sugar

You can use a natural scrub. Honey and sugar together exfoliates skin nicely, while still moisturizing your skin. Just mix them together to form a paste and rub it over your face, leave it for 15minutes and rinse of with warm water. Don’t use scrubs too often, as they will dry out your skin, and not in a good way!

Aloe vera

I think I need to write about the uses of aloe vera. Aloe vera gel is very effective in ridding oil from your skin. This gel is rich in antioxidants, moisture, and skin cleansing extracts that makes it a good natural face cleanser. Just extract the gel of aloe vera from the plant and rub it on your face. Leave it for 20 minutes and then wash it off with water.

Egg whites

Oh no! not again, well yeah. While many might think that it is messy, however, a face mask of egg white is a great way to firm up the skin and to reduce the excess oil content from one’s face. Just as we did before with the pimples removal regimen, just whip the white of an egg and rub it on your face till it drys.  Leave it for 10 to 15minutes and wash it off with warm water.

Other things we could use include;

Tomato paste
Cucumber mask
Pawpaw paste
Apple mask
Vinegar
Orange peels paste
Milk is a great oil-free cleanser that can make oily skin soft and supple. Milk gently exfoliate the skin and also help maintain the skin’s natural pH balance.

It's adviceable, you have to be diligent and patient with whatever method you choose to follow

Angelina Jolie Can No Longer Have Kids After Removing Ovaries and Fallopian Tubes

Superstar actress Angelina Jolie has gotten rid of her ovaries and fallopian tubes 2 years after she removed her breast in a bid to get rid of cancer.

The actress who has 6 kids can no longer have children.

Via New York times

Two years ago I wrote about my choice to have a preventive double mastectomy. A simple blood test had revealed that I carried a mutation in the BRCA1 gene. It gave me an estimated 87 percent risk of breast cancer and a 50 percent risk of ovarian cancer. I lost my mother, grandmother and aunt to cancer.

I wanted other women at risk to know about the options. I promised to follow up with any information that could be useful, including about my next preventive surgery, the removal of my ovaries and fallopian tubes.

I had been planning this for some time. It is a less complex surgery than the mastectomy, but its effects are more severe. It puts a woman into forced menopause. So I was readying myself physically and emotionally, discussing options with doctors, researching alternative medicine, and mapping my hormones for estrogen or progesterone replacement. But I felt I still had months to make the date.
Then two weeks ago I got a call from my doctor with blood-test results. “Your CA-125 is normal,” he said. I breathed a sigh of relief. That test measures the amount of the protein CA-125 in the blood, and is used to monitor ovarian cancer. I have it every year because of my family history.
But that wasn’t all. He went on. “There are a number of inflammatory markers that are elevated, and taken together they could be a sign of early cancer.” I took a pause. “CA-125 has a 50 to 75 percent chance of missing ovarian cancer at early stages,” he said. He wanted me to see the surgeon immediately to check my ovaries.
I went through what I imagine thousands of other women have felt. I told myself to stay calm, to be strong, and that I had no reason to think I wouldn’t live to see my children grow up and to meet my grandchildren.
I called my husband in France, who was on a plane within hours. The beautiful thing about such moments in life is that there is so much clarity. You know what you live for and what matters. It is polarizing, and it is peaceful.
That same day I went to see the surgeon, who had treated my mother. I last saw her the day my mother passed away, and she teared up when she saw me: “You look just like her.” I broke down. But we smiled at each other and agreed we were there to deal with any problem, so “let’s get on with it.”
Nothing in the examination or ultrasound was concerning. I was relieved that if it was cancer, it was most likely in the early stages. If it was somewhere else in my body, I would know in five days. I passed those five days in a haze, attending my children’s soccer game, and working to stay calm and focused.
The day of the results came. The PET/CT scan looked clear, and the tumor test was negative. I was full of happiness, although the radioactive tracer meant I couldn’t hug my children. There was still a chance of early stage cancer, but that was minor compared with a full-blown tumor. To my relief, I still had the option of removing my ovaries and fallopian tubes and I chose to do it.

I did not do this solely because I carry the BRCA1 gene mutation, and I want other women to hear this. A positive BRCA test does not mean a leap to surgery. I have spoken to many doctors, surgeons and naturopaths. There are other options. Some women take birth control pills or rely on alternative medicines combined with frequent checks. There is more than one way to deal with any health issue. The most important thing is to learn about the options and choose what is right for you personally.
In my case, the Eastern and Western doctors I met agreed that surgery to remove my tubes and ovaries was the best option, because on top of the BRCA gene, three women in my family have died from cancer. My doctors indicated I should have preventive surgery about a decade before the earliest onset of cancer in my female relatives. My mother’s ovarian cancer was diagnosed when she was 49. I’m 39.
Last week, I had the procedure: a laparoscopic bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy. There was a small benign tumor on one ovary, but no signs of cancer in any of the tissues.
I have a little clear patch that contains bio-identical estrogen. A progesterone IUD was inserted in my uterus. It will help me maintain a hormonal balance, but more important it will help prevent uterine cancer. I chose to keep my uterus because cancer in that location is not part of my family history.
It is not possible to remove all risk, and the fact is I remain prone to cancer. I will look for natural ways to strengthen my immune system. I feel feminine, and grounded in the choices I am making for myself and my family. I know my children will never have to say, “Mom died of ovarian cancer.”
Regardless of the hormone replacements I’m taking, I am now in menopause. I will not be able to have any more children, and I expect some physical changes. But I feel at ease with whatever will come, not because I am strong but because this is a part of life. It is nothing to be feared.
I feel deeply for women for whom this moment comes very early in life, before they have had their children. Their situation is far harder than mine. I inquired and found out that there are options for women to remove their fallopian tubes but keep their ovaries, and so retain the ability to bear children and not go into menopause. I hope they can be aware of that.
It is not easy to make these decisions. But it is possible to take control and tackle head-on any health issue. You can seek advice, learn about the options and make choices that are right for you. Knowledge is power.

President Jonathan Visits Buhari’s Hometown; See The Mean Thing The People Of The Town Did After He Left – PHOTOS!

President Jonathan continues to take his re-election campaign to different places and one of the places he visited lately is the hometown of his major opponent, Muhammadu Buhari. The All Progressive Congress has a great following in that part of the country and intend to win the elections by a landslide.

During his visit to Daura, Katsina state, he told the people that the idea of an interim national government (ING) being talked about by some politicians was strange to him and such a call is “treasonable”.

The president revealed this as he paid a visit to the Emir of Daura, Umar Faruk Umar, with members of the PDP presidential campaign organisation, top government functionaries and prominent northern leaders.

After the President left Daura, the people of the town took to their streets and poured tons of water on the road to wash away The President's visit.
