Actress Uche Jombo Defends Genevieve Nnaji Over Her Marital Status Yardstick Diss By Trolls

Actress Uche Jombo is one actress who would support her own anytime, anyday.

The actress who wasn't at the Africa Magic Viewers choice awards followed the event via her twitter and the moment when Genevieve Nnaji revealed her outfit for the event and got attacked by trolls who threw tantrums at her for being married, Uche came to Genevieve's rescue.

The delectable actress explained that it was wrong to use marriage as a yardstick to measure a woman's success or achievement in life.

She also touched on the issue of our Nigerian movie stars supporting President Goodluck Jonathan's or Muhammadu Buhari's election campaign, she said every Nigerian [even movie stars] had a right to vote and support whoever they wanted to.

Nigerian singer Seyi Shay came under heavy criticism over an outfit she wore to meet with president Jonathan recently.

The 29 year old singer has finally decided to address the issue. She said she wore 2 outfits to the event, 1 to perform and the other, for the usual. She told Punch
“I am a very respectable young lady and I was not in any way trying to seduce the President with the outfit I wore. I had two outfits for the event, one was for my performance and the other was worn after I performed. The dress I was pictured in with the President was what I wore during my performance. I came on stage and greeted everyone according to their culture and I did the same for Mr. President. He was impressed and he asked where and how I knew how to greet in his native dialect and I said I learnt it. That was what brought about the giggling and smiles in the picture. I’m a performer and what I do on stage doesn’t reflect my everyday life. I had two outfits on that day and it was a youth event. Who wouldn’t feel overwhelmed meeting the President? Well, I did and I felt honoured because it is not every day you get to meet the president of your country,”

Pop singer Azadus’ career has had a major dip since his record deal with premier record label, Kennis Music expired. He’s struggled to make a comeback ever since although he has stopped making music in recent time.
In an interview with Punch, he admitted his career dwindled because of an armed robbery incident that left him out of the music game for more than a year.

“It is obvious I left Kennis because my contract with them expired and my career dwindled. When I was with Kennis Music, all hands were on deck to push my music out but now that I am on my own, everything is left to me. But the major reason I was out of the limelight was because I was attacked by armed robbers. I was shot in my neigbhourhood at FESTAC. I was away from music for over a year because I was hospitalised. That was what affected me. I could not move freely because I lost faith in the security around where I was staying. I hardly went out because I was afraid of another attack. I went through a lot of trauma.” Azadus told Punch

He added he is able to take care of his family despite claims that he is broke by industry commentators

“If people think I am broke, they should come and give me money. At least I thank God that I am taking care of my family. Being broke is not a crime; it is not an offence. I don’t know when being broke became an offence in the country. I am broke and people that think they have money should come and give me money. Even Greece and some other countries were broke at a time. They went through recession. That is no news. News is talking about my music; if it is better than it was or worse. It is not about my personal life but what connects me and the world; how people feel my music. People should talk about my music and not my personal life,” he said.


Azadus added that his career hasn’t failed until he is dead.
