Arrest Fani-Kayode now – BSO tells security agencies

The Buhari Support Organisation, BSO, has asked security agencies to arrest of Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode, the Director, Media, Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Organisation, for announcing unofficial results.

This call was made by the Director, Media and Information of the BSO, Dr. Chidia Maduekwe, on Monday in Abuja at a news conference.

Maduekwe said this was the time for security agencies to show their neutrality by arresting Fani-Kayode because
the only authority allowed by law to announce election results was the Independent National Electoral Commission.

According to him. Fani-Kayode had breached relevant sections of the Electoral Act by announcing on Sunday that
the PDP was leading in the presidential election in 23 states of the federation.

“We ask the security agencies to immediately arrest Fani-Kayode for breaching relevant sections of the Electoral Act which forbids any organ outside INEC from officially declaring election results.

“His arrest for further questioning will be a clear indication that the security agencies are truly unbiased
participants in this electoral process.

“His declaration is also a breach of both the first and second Abuja Peace Accord signed by the presidential
candidates,’’ Maduekwe said.

Madueke also called on the international community and observers to note the steps being taken by the ruling
party to cause severe breach of peace and call them to order.

The BSO spokesman appealed to APC supporters to maintain the peace as they await the official announcement of authentic INEC results for the Saturday elections.

“We ask Nigerians to join us in saying `No’ to this recent manifestation of habitual impunity.

“We appeal to all our numerous supporters
to sustain their calmness in the face of current provocation and abuse of our electoral processes,’’ he said.

Maduekwe said that APC would reject “in its entirety, the use of security to compromise an election process that has been commended as having high quotient of integrity’’.

Read Prof. Jega's epic response to Orubebe this morning

After PDP party agent Godsday Orubebe created an embarrassing scene at the collation centre in Abuja this morning, trying to disrupt announcement of results (read here) a very calm Jega told him;

"Mr Orubebe, you are a former Minister of the Federal Republic .You are a statesman in your own right. You should be careful about what you say or what allegations or accusations you make. Certainly you should be careful about your public conduct"

Jega's response to Orubebe has been hailed as mature and worthy of praise. In fact, there's a meaning for Jega now. 'Jega' - meaning - 'To be inexplicably chilled in the midst of stupidity or conflict". lol. Prof Jega's full response after the cut

"You have made two comments. One is that you submitted a petition which I refused to accept. Secondly you claimed that there was a result released by the APC which you alleged that we gave to them or I gave to them. With regards to the first point, yesterday after we took the first batch of results in this hall and as we declared a recess until 4pm, as I was walking down back to the office, my PA came to me and said that here are some papers that Dr Bello Fadile, a representative of the PDP said that he should collect it; that I said Dr Fadile should give him those papers. I told him that I didn't tell Dr Fadile to give any papers to you. Return them to him because Dr Fadile, after we declared for recess came on to this platform. As a party agent, he is not supposed to do that and gave some documents to my PA who is writing results here. and I am sure some of the agents and some of the pressmen may have seen that and I told my PA to take back those documents to him. If he told you I told him to give you any documents, I did not. Take them back to him, Subsequently, Dr Fadile sent me a text message saying that there are petitions and that he wants to submit them. I told him we don't collect petitions on the platform when we are declaring results and then he said I should have left my office open so that they can submit those petitions in my office. I told him our secretary, the secretary to the commission is not anywhere in this hall. She is in her office and that her business is to receive communication. If they are important enough, she would bring them to me here. I have started collation. I cannot be receiving petition in this hall or in this platform. And when I replied that text message, he replied again and said Okay, he will see what he can do. I interpreted the text as he was going to take that petition or whatever document he has to the secretary of the commission. As I speak with you now, I have not received anything from the secretary to the commission. That is regards to the issue of the so called petition.

Regarding results published by APC on its website, I do not give results to anybody. The results were announced formally as INEC are results declared here. And we have warned everybody to be careful and to ensure that the do not declare results which we have not officially announced. So as far as I am concerned I have not seen any results. I have not given anybody any results. So for you to even engage me on that issue I think frankly that is not fair to me. I have not seen the results. How can I speak on something that I have not seen. So please let us be careful of what we say or do so that we do not disrupt a process that has ended peacefully and in a matter of hours we would be able to finish it.". Jega said

BREAKING! Former Niger Delta Minister, Godsday Orubebe Disrupts Ongoing INEC Election’s Collation; Complains About Irregularities

Happening right now at the INEC collation centre where the results of the President election is being announced.

Elder Peter Godsday Orubebe right now at the ongoing INEC’s presidential election collation in Abuja has disrupted the peaceful event as he claims INEC chairman Prof Jega is biased, tribalistic and not competent to carry out and continue the ongoing collation in Abuja.

He claims the election is not free and fair and PDP complained about so many irregularities in the northern part of the country and INEC did nothing about it. So he said the collation wont continue until something is done.

Elder Peter Godsday Orubebe was appointed Nigerian Minister of Niger Delta on 6 April 2010 when Acting President Goodluck Jonathan announced his new cabinet.

Erubebe became a Supervisory Councilor, and later Chairman of Burutu LGA. In July 2007, President Umaru Yar’Adua appointed him Minister of Special Duties. Later he became Minister of State for Niger Delta Affairs when that ministry was created in December 2008.

In January 2010 he said that the proposed 10% equity share policy on infrastructural development in the Niger Delta region would make vandalism and crisis a thing of the past.
In response, Jega has responded to the two major points he raised, first was that Jega refused to reply a petition raised, and explained that he can't be receiving petitions while results were being collated.

Gov. Rotimi Amaechi Imposes Dusk-To-Dawn Curfew On Port-Harcourt

The Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, has declared dusk-to-dawn curfew on Port Harcourt, the state capital, hours after the Independent National Electoral Commission announced the result of the presidential and National Assembly elections in the state.
In a terse statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, George Feyi, the governor said the curfew will hold from 7p.m. to 6a.m.

“The curfew will continue till further notice,” a part of the statement said.
The declaration of the curfew comes amidst heightened tension occasioned by the conduct of last Saturday’s election in the state.
Mr. Amaechi and the All Progressives Congress had boycotted the polls over the failure of INEC to supply result sheets to many polling units especially in the party strongholds.

I can only play for Liverpool in England – Suarez

Luis Suarez has hinted that he could return to Liverpool one day, insisting that he will never play for another Premier League club.
The Uruguayan left Anfield for Barcelona last summer in a reported €102 million deal, but was back at his old stomping ground on Sunday, to feature in a charity match between Steven Gerrard XI and Jamie Carragher XI.

After the game, Liverpool’s official website asked Suarez if he would ever play for the Merseyside club again.

He replied: “You never know in football, but if in the future, I play in England again, I play with the Liverpool shirt on and not another shirt.”
Suarez made 133 appearances for Liverpool and scored 82 goals. Speaking on his return to Anfield on Sunday, he said: “It was great for me.
“Four years ago when I arrived here for Liverpool, I crossed my fingers to play with Fernando and he left three days after I signed.
